If you didn’t pre-order the iPhone 4 from Apple, AT&T, or Radio Shack, don’t worry procrastinators – you can still buythem in the store. But which store?
Here’s a rundown of your chances of buying them at these stores:
- Apple retail store: Best bet! A short supply on-hand is predicted, but this is your best chance in gettin an iPhone. Go early on June 24th or else you probably won’t see any left by noon.
- AT&T: Not a chance! AT&T announced that they will start selling the iPhone 4 on June 29th on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Radio Shack: Don’t even go there at a later date. Radio Shack couldn’t handle the high demand from its trade-in promotion last week. Those folks who pre-ordered iPhones last week probably won’t get them on time.
- Best Buy or Wal-Mart: Good luck! Apple stymied its retail partners, and didn’t provide any type of inventory to sell.
Currently, Apple is selling the iPhone 4 only to the US, UK, Japan, Germany, and France. No other country is getting this one. If you’re not yet familiar, the pricing is dirt cheap in relative iPhone pricing. If you’re not an AT&T customer, you’ll pay only $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB one. If you’re a current AT&T or iPhone customer, you will be eligible for the same pricing if your AT&T plan warrants this upgrade pricing by the end of the year. See if you’re eligible by dialing *639# from your iPhone. You’ll then receive a text with the results.
My next blog will be about how to activate and set up your new iPhone. The IT support end of this is very easy. But, for now, worry about getting your hands on one!
