This already is a step up from Apple’s monopoly with only ATT service in the United States. ATT offers sub-par service in the New York City and surrounding areas. If the iPhone was offered via Verizon, Sprint, and other carriers, more people would be flocking to the iPhone. Of course, the iPhone has been unlocked to work with other carriers, but that is not the legitimate way and besides the point.
With 3 carriers to choose from, Israelis can stay on their current plan or decide which service has the best reception to go with their iPhone. It’s surprising Apple didn’t target one carrier like in the US, but then again, they’re testing a new market to a broad audience. At the end of the day, Apple is looking to make a few more shekels, and the 3 phone carriers will maximize their bottom line.

The consumer fanatics have already unlocked their iPhones, but there will still be a good number of normal consumers who will also jump on the iPhone Macabi bandwagon.
