The Gmail interface is not for everyone.  If you’re used to Outlook and its keen folder structure, then you can set up Gmail in Outlook That way, you still get a free email account with tons of space, all within a nicely organized Outlook.  The best of both worlds!

Here’s how to configure Outlook for your Gmail account:

1.  Go to your Gmail account and make sure IMAP is enabled in the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.

2.  Open Outlook->File->Info->Account Settings->New and select:  Manually configure server settings->Internet Email

3.  Enter Your Name, Email, User Name, Password, and the below incoming and outgoing settings.

4.  Click Next.  You can rename how your email recipients see your name.

5.  Click Advanced Tab and make sure to change the incoming and outgoing port numbers as shown below.

6.  Click on Outgoing Server tab and click the boxes for Outlook server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

7.  Click OK and Test Account Settings.

That’s it.  You don’t need to be a computer expert or Outlook expert to set this up.  Just follow the above 7 steps and you’ll have your Gmail working in Outlook.
