It is easy to set up your Blackberry with a new e-mail account. Your new Blackberry has an icon that is waiting for you to click it to set up an existing or new email account. But, what if you need to change your e-mail account and that eager email icon on your Blackberry is no longer available? This is common for our clients when performing new e-mail server migrations. For instance, if we migrate a customer’s Godaddy e-mail service to an in-house Exchange e-mail service, their blackberry devices will need to reflect this change to. That means the current e-mail accounts on the Blackberries need to be changed as well.
Here’s how to change your current Blackberry e-mail account for your new company Microsoft Exchange server:
- On your blackberry, go to Setup.
- Click Setup Wizard.
- Go to Email setup.
- Select I want to create or add an email address and Click Next.
- Select Next to open the email setup website.
- Accept the Legal terms and conditions.
- On the email setup wizard, select Other for email service provider, and input the one from your Exchange administrator. (i.e. mail. computers.com)
- Type in your email address info. (i.e. username: frank@computers.com and password)
- That’s it. Just click OK and close to log out.
You should give your phone 15-20 minutes to update and then you’ll be receiving e-mails. If you have any problems, you should call Blackberry support to possibly re-send your service books which will jump-start your e-mail.
