How cool would it be to print your photos from your iPhone or iPad?  Well, this will be a reality with the next Apple iOS update.  In November of this year, the 4.2 software update will be available for the Apple operating system on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch to enable wireless printing.

The wireless printing utility is alled Airprint.  The cool factor with Airprint is that it will automatically find printers on local networks just like your device finds wireless networks.  Then, it will print wirelessly without the need to install any drivers.

This means you don’t have to scramble to find a printer driver CD or download.  The Airprint will be able to do all the heavy lifting for you by finding the driver on its own.  If for some reason the Airprint cannot find a driver, it will then piggyback off an existing PC or Mac computer that is using that printer, and use that printer driver.  That means you don’t have to be a computer expert to set it up.  Pretty cool, eh?

This printing technology will further bridge the gap between smartphones and tablets with regular computers.  Many computer users are not too fond of the iPad because you cannot print from it.  Well, this new printer software support could be the next game changer that will increase even more market share for Apple.
