Windows 8 has 4 different versions that may seem confusing, but I’m here to break it down for you in a non-tech vocab way.
I’ll list the different Windows 8 versions and jot down each main function you should use them for. That way, you’ll know the differences between each.
Windows 8 Pro – If you’re a big media buff, i.e. like watching TV shows and movies, this Metro-styled operating system support is for you. You can use the TiVo-like Microsoft system to record your shows.
Windows 8 – If you’re a business-minded Microsoft Office user or just need a home computer for multiple family members, go for this one.
Windows RT – Think of this as the iOS for Microsoft. If you’re all about apps and using a touch screen tablet or laptop, this one’s for you. It’s also great for road warriors.
Windows 8 Enterprise – Part of a company network? Need to remote desktop into your office computer? Encryption is also another utility you may set up on this one.
