The Looking Glass computer by Dell is not even available for viewing on Dell’s site. We were able to view the first leaks of this model and are sharing our story with you. This Dell tablet will be entering the market to compete with HP’s Slate touchscreen and, of course, Apple’s iPad.
Here are the specs on Dell’s Looking Glass:
- Android 2.1 operating system – light-weight OS will allow peppy navigation
- 7-inch display – good mobile size
- 4GB RAM speed – decent speed for a tablet
- 4GB – 32GB of storage – this storage size is expected
- 1.3 megapixel camera – not bad..could use more megapixels
- Tegra 2 processor – new mobile processor for tablets which means it is freakishly fast!
The cool factor is that the Android operating system will have TV shows, movies, and videos easily categorized so you can quickly locate your favorite episode. The Dell tablet is slated to come out in November, and hasn’t been priced yet. It’s smaller than the iPad, but bigger than a smartphone which could create a niche market for this product. As always, price will dictate if the Looking Glass will be worth it. The good tech support end of this is that Dell will offer onsite computer support for these models, if you purchase the additional coverage. At first glance, we think this product is a good one, but the final design and pricing will be key factors here.
