So, you bought your brand spanking new Windows 7. But, you still have an old program that will only run in Windows XP. What can you do?
Here are the steps to run your Windows XP program on the Windows 7 computer:
- Go to Start->Control Panel->Programs->Use an older program with this version of Windows.
- Follow the instructions and select your program of choice.
That’s it. Keep in mind most newer programs are already compatible for Windows 7 support. But, we have has a number of clients as of late who just cannot part with their Windows XP programs, or custom, older programs. As for printer support, a number of printers may still be able to run via Windows XP mode, but you’re better off just purchasing a new Windows 7 compatible printer being that that new printers are reasonably priced nowadays.
