If your child, senior family member, or other loved one has sensitive ears, you should set his or her Apple support device to a safe audio level.  That means protecting against loud music.  You can set the iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a certain sound level.  Essentially, you can set the ceiling of how loud the sound should go.

Here’s how to restrict the sound level on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod:

  1. Go to Settings->Music
  2. Tap Volume Limit
  3. Pull down volume slider to the maximum volume you want to set it at
  4. Tap the back arrow to return to the main menu

That’s it.  You won’t be able to go past that max volume level.  And your loved one will be all the better for it!
