For all you die-hard Windows XP fans, your last chance to get a preinstalled Windows XP computer is October 1st, 2010. Preinstalled means that the computer already comes installed with Windows XP when you purchase it. The only ways to get Windows XP is online via Dell, HP, and some other select computer support manufacturers.
What does this mean for you after October 1st? If you still want to install Windows XP on your computer, you’ll need to buy the operating system online or go to your local NYC computer shop to have them install it for you. There are lots of computer service discounts on such an older operating system since it is not the latest and greatest.
If you want to stay up with the times, you can still use your older Windows XP software applications with Windows 7. All you have to do is make sure Windows 7 is installed with XP mode. This mode is available with the Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate versions. Or make the plunge and get new, updated software since it’s probably about time if you’re still holding onto a Windows XP computer!
