If you’re not familiar, A+ Certification is a computer repair industry test that certifies one on computer hardware aswell as some software. This test is organized by a non-profit organization called CompTIA for the purpose of teaching how to take apart a computer and replace computer parts. It is known as an entry-level computer technician course.
Should your computer repair technician be A+ certified? It is a plus to know he or she is A+ certified as that would indicate knowledge on the hardware-end of computers. Please note that the A+ class teaches some Windows concepts also, but is mainly geared towards the guts of computers. However, with all tests, it is better to know your computer tech has good experience in replacing and diagnosing computer hardware versus just being well-read.
Although computers are scientifically oriented, your computer rep should also be savvy enough to know how toreally fix computers. It is easy enough to replace a failed hard drive, or upgrade RAM, but what do you do if your computer doesn’t spell out the computer issue? What if your computer doesn’t boot up after replacing the power supply. Should you also replace the motherboard or processor, or both?
The point here is it’s nice-to-have if your computer technician is A+ certified, but experience with a little savvy are more important.
