In general, Macs are great for pictures, videos, design, and music while PCs are known for being office workhorses. As per costs, Macs typically are twice the amount of PCs with netbooks leading the way as the cheapest notebooks. With computer support, you can purchase Apple Care for roughly $250 for 3 years while PC support varies. At about $50 per year, Dell onsite support may be purchased for part replacements. HP support, Sony, and others are typically mail-in support which could take up to 2 weeks to turn around.
As per longevity, hardware on both PCs and Macs are about even. On the virus support front, Macs rule this one. PCs get infected often because they’re targeted whereas Macs seem to still be under the radar.
