If you’ve forgotten your iPhone passcode, don’t panic! It happens to the best of us. Fortunately, there are a few ways to recover your phone and get back into it without having to reset it completely.
The first thing you should do is try all possible combinations of numbers that might be your passcode. If that doesn’t work, then you can try using iTunes or iCloud to restore access to your device.
Using iTunes:
1. Connect your iPhone to the computer with which it was last synced (if available).
2. Open iTunes on the computer and select “Sync” in order for iTunes to recognize the device.
3. Once recognized, click on “Restore from Backup” in order for iTunes to erase all data from the device and replace it with what was previously backed up onto this computer before forgetting the password occurred.
4. After restoring from backup is complete, disconnect iPhone from computer and enter new passcode when prompted upon restarting phone after restoration process has completed successfully .
Using iCloud:
1. Go online at wwwicloudcom/find and sign in with Apple ID associated with lost/forgotten password-protected iPhone device .
2a) If Find My Phone feature is enabled on lost/forgotten password-protected iPhone , then use this feature by selecting “Erase [device]” option under “All Devices” list located at top right corner of page . This will remotely erase all content stored within locked out device as well as its current passcode so the user may create a new one upon restarting phone after erasing process has been completed successfully.
2b) If Find My Phone feature is not enabled on lost/forgotten password-protected iPhone , then use “Recovery Mode” option instead by connecting the same said device via USB cable connection between a laptop or desktop PC running the latest version of iTunes software. You can follow the recovery mode procedure outlined below :
– Power off target iOS Device.
– Press & hold Home button while simultaneously plugging USB cable connection into both laptop /desktop PC running the latest version of iTunes software & target iOS Device itself until Apple logo appears on screen.
– Release Home button once Apple logo appears.
– Wait until iTunes recognizes connected iOS Device in “Recovery Mode” state.
– Follow the instructions provided by the iTunes application regarding how to proceed further depending whether the user wishes to perform a full system restore or just update the existing firmware version currently installed onto the target iOS Device itself .
Upon completion, either full system restore or firmware update procedures outlined above , the user may now create a brand new passcode when prompted upon restarting their respective devices post successful completion either aforementioned processes respectively.
