We’ve all had the occasional daydream-like moment where we hold down on the iPhone and accidentally delete an app. Sometimes, we go a step further a mistakenly delete the Messages icon. Oh no! I’ve actually seen people go weeks by just searching for their lost Messages icon every time they’d like to send an email instead of figuring out a way to restore the icon and message. Pretty ridiculous, but I’ve witnessed this many times.
Here’s how to end the madness and restore your deleted Messages icon:
- Go to Settings
- General
- Reset
- Reset Home Screen Layout
- App will reappear
That’s it. The icon for your Messages will reappear on your home screen. iPhone repair techs and tech experts need not apply here. And by all means, please do this instead of searching feverishly every time you’d like to find your Messages.
