Your UPS battery backup is beeping.  It’s loud.  It’s very loud!  It’s annoyingly loud and the whole office cannot work again until you turn that fire alarm off.

Here how to do it:

  1. Trace the power cables of where the UPS is plugged into.  Simply plug the UPS power cable into another outlet.  If this works, it means it wasn’t plugged in to get power previously.  Great, mission solved and you’re an office hero.
  2. If the beeping persists, see about powering off the UPS backup unit by pressing the power button.
  3. If still to no avail, unplug everything from the back of the UPS unit and remove the UPS unit from any power source.
  4. If still no luck,  you’ll need to open up the UPS and disconnect the failing battery that is causing the beeping.  If you’re not comfortable doing this, you should call up a local NYC UPS beeping repair service company.

Please keep in mind, that removing the beeping noise is a temporary fix if step 1 above did not fix it.  That beeping noise means the internal battery of the UPS backup unit requires replacement.  The best way to do this is to call up the manufacturer of the UPS, such as APC, and get a price check of the battery replacement.  On some units, it makes more sense to just buy a whole new UPS since the battery itself may be just as costly.  You may enlist a UPS battery replacement service company in NYC if, once again, you are not comfortable doing so yourself.
