There are a hundred and one ways to set up a new iPhone.  But, you want to make sure to set it up the correct way. Most importantly, you don’t want to recreate the wheel when doing so.  You know what I’m talking about.  You don’t want to have to jog your memory to remember the email settings, home and office wireless settings, apps you downloaded, and really everything else on your iPhone.

Our iPhone experts have put their heads together to come up with the best 10-step simplified solution to set up your iPhone the right way.

1.  Back up your old iPhone.  Go the iCloud route.  It’s easier and less cumbersome than iTunes.  First, plug your iPhone into a charger, make sure it’s set to WiFi, and  Go to Settings->iCloud->Backup and Back Up Now.  This may take awhile, even overnight, so grab a book or watch a movie and be patient.

2.  Set up the basic info during the new iPhone setup.  Power on. Slide to Set Up.  Choose your language, country or region.  Connect to WiFi entering your wireless network/router password.

3.  Restore your iCloud backup.  This is when you want to bring over the backup from your old iPhone.  Make sure your new iPhone is charging and connected to a WiFi network.  Then, when prompted to Restore from iCloud Backup during the setup, tap next and enter your Apple ID and password.  Select your latest backup from your old iPhone and Restore.  Again, grab a book or do something else to kill time.  You’ll know the restore process is done after your new iPhone restarts.
