Getting your new iPad is exciting.  But, setting up your iPad could be daunting…unless you have the right iPad set up steps.  I’ve jotted down a few steps to make your iPad setup experience a breeze.

Just follow the below steps to set up your new iPad:

  1. Update your computer to the latest iTunes.
  2. Connect your iPad to the computer with the cable that came with it.
  3. Your iPad will then automatically sync with iTunes.
  4. When prompted, enter your personal information to register the iPad.
  5. Decide which programs (i.e. music and movies) you want to sync with your iPad and computer.
  6. Then, you can sync.
  7. After syncing, you can remove the cable.
  8. You can next go to Settings->Mail and enter your email username and password to send/receive email.

That’s basically it.  You can have fun after by downloading apps, but that’s pretty self-intuitive.  The only time I ever connected my iPad to my computer was for the initial registration.  After that, I never connected my iPad since I just use it for watching videos, playing games, and checking email.  The setup is easy and doesn’t require an iPad technician.  If you have a computer and an iPad, you can do it!
