If your computer is acting up, you may have a PC virus or spyware. But, you may just have a Windows operating system corruption as well. Whatever the case, the Windows fix may be to restore the computer to a previous state. The hope with this is that Windows will bring your computer to a restore point, or date, in which the computer was working perfectly normal. In the end, if it works, your problem is solved. Keep in mind though that if you do have a computer virus, it should still be removed properly since it most likely will still be in your system.
Here’s how to restore your computer in Windows 7:
- Click the Windows icon (Start button)->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore.
- Click Next.
- Choose the Date and Time where you believe your computer was working fine and Click Next and Finish.
Do not touch your computer while the System Restore process is in the works or you may cause freezing or incomplete results. After the process, your computer will start up on the date you chose. If your issue is still appearing, than you may still have a computer infection, corruption, or hardware issue.
