It is common to hear of a friend who has had his or her Facebook account hacked.  You need to ensure you’re not next.

Here are the steps to prevent your Facebook account from being hacked:

  1. In Facebook, go to log in name at top of page->Account Settings->Security->Secure Browsing->Edit and select Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) when possible.
  2. Still in your Account Settings->Security section, go to: Login Notifications->Edit->Check Email and/or Text to be notified if an unknown computer or phone is trying to log into your account.
  3. Change your Facebook password every year.

These are three ways to secure your Facebook from being hacked.  Facebook computer experts or tech geeks need not apply here.
