Which one is better:  Boot Camp or Parallels? Many Mac users opt for Parallels because it can be quickly accessed with a click of a button.  Boot Camp requires a restart before you may use it for the Windows side.  To back up a moment, both software applications are used to have Windows installed on a Mac.  But, the main difference is how they may be accessed.  Parallels is a quick click versus Boot Camp’s reboot.  So, Parallels wins on the quick click. As per functionality, Boot Camp clearly wins. When Boot Camp is used to access Windows, 100% of the Mac is being used.  That means there is not half-Mac, half-PC processing going on like with Parallels.  With that said, the Windows acts just like it would on a Dell or Lenovo computer.  So, now hiccups or software compatibility issues are expected.  That cannot be said for Parallels where even printing gets tied up at times.  With Parallels, drivers are shared between the PC and Mac side since Windows is accessible quickly and always running the background as the Mac operating system is also.  So, many driver conflicts occur, causing printing issues or other peripheral problems.  Further, software issues do occur from time to time, similar to the reason the drivers and printer issue occur. Who wins? Well, if want to use Windows on your Mac for light email and Internet usage, go with Parallels.  But, if you’re a heavy printer and want to use hard-core processing for certain Windows programs, go with Boot Camp.  I prefer going with Boot Camp since it natively runs Windows as if it were installed on a PC.  No issues or hassles.  Yes, Parallels is quickly accessible, but if you want quick access, don’t install Windows and just use your Mac operating system!
