I will attempt to take all of the confusing choices with tablets and boil it down to a few minutes of which ones to buy.  It is getting dizzy trying to follow the latest tablets which just came out.  But, I tech support master of the universe will try to make sense of it.  Okay, seriously, let’s get to the top tablet list to check out for your holiday shopping list.

  1. Nook HD – For $199, it is the sharpest display on either 7 or 9 inches.  Create separate profiles for your reading pleasure.  Get quick access to Barnes and Noble’s books and mags.
  2. SurfaceMicrosoft support‘s new “it” tablet runs a full Windows 8 and has a keyboard.  Steep at $499, but doubles as a laptop with its keyboard.
  3. Nexus 10 – A big 10-inch screen, this $399 model has a sharper display than the iPad 4 and also may have multiple profiles.
  4. Kindle Fire HD – Like Amazon books, apps, music, and movies?  Then go with the $199 7-inch model or more expensive 8.9-inch model.
  5. iPad mini – At $329, this 7.9-inch screen should be in the conversation of your tablet purchase as nothing beats the apps in the Apple store.
  6. Nexus 7 – Just $199 and runs Android’s Jelly Bean operating system.  Best value at this screen size.
  7. iPad 4 – Yes, it’s $499, and yes it’s retina display that offers the highest resolution display.
