I’m a big music lover. It always brightens my mood. On the way to work, I’ll pop in my earbuds, listen to music while reading the NY Times, checking the weather, and getting sports updates, all while avoiding getting run over by cars and people.
At first, I was happy to find a couple of good reliable music apps to go by, but why settle when you can explore a bunch.
Here are my go-to music apps that I have readily available on my iPhone:
- Spotify – Best app ever. It’s free, you pick your genre and it plays continuous music. If you really like a song, select it for the app to choose songs just like it to play after.
- iHeartRadio – Great app for listening to radio stations. Just queue up your favorite and listen from anywhere. This is great if you’re on the road, running or working out, or just want to keep up with your favorite DJ.
- Pandora – Similar to Spotify, and has a sync option with its desktop app, but times out after a while to ask if you’re still listening. It could get ad-heavy at times, but other than the brief annoyances, it’s a good free music app.
- TuneIn – Similar to iHeartRadio plus news streams including: ESPN, BBC, CBS and 2 million other on-demand programs.
- Songza – Whatever your mood, this app will emulate it and accommodate you. Need a boost, stressed out, happy, whatever the mood, this app will tailor its playlist for you.
These apps are intuitive and easy for the iPhone setup. These free music apps will be sure to boost your energy level and feeling in a good mood.
