Spring is here and you probably have some old computers to get rid of.  Or possibly some heavy printers tucked underneath your desk need to be trashed.  On Green Day, we’d like to discuss how to properly get rid of your old tech stuff.

Here’s what not to do:

  • Don’t throw your old monitors on the street.  It’s illegal.
  • Chop of your laptop in little pieces.

Here’s what to do:

  • Recyle, recyle, recyle.  It’s the safest way to decompose your technology equipment.  And it’s the most efficient for the environment
  • Donate to schools or non-for-profit organizations
  • See about upgrading your computer instead of trashing it
  • Make sure to back up your files and format/delete your info before giving away your computer.

Please make sure to think of the environment first before disposing of your computer electronics.
