Firefox has long been know the Internet Explorer killer.  Well, that’s until Chrome and some other newbies came onto the scene to take part in the IE massacre.  Now, Mozilla has produced another version, version 6, for Firefox.  Is it worthy of upgrading to?  Yes!

Here are the reasons to upgrade to Firefox 6:

  • Speed! No more slow startup.  This one is fast, but just make sure you don’t have too many add-ons or toolbars slowing down the works.
  • Easy URL display. The website domain is easier to see since it’s in bold.  For instance, the New York Computer Help site, http://newyorkcomputerhelp.com/rep-mac-repairs.html, emphasizes the root domain name whereas the secondary page is normal.  Chrome and IE9 have had this feature for awhile.
  • Security is better. Specifically, you can tell which websites should accept cookies, computer pop-ups, passwords, and location storage.

Okay, so there’s not a lot of bells and whistles with the new Firefox version, but I’d like to think the security will help prevent more computer viruses and computer spyware.  Also, it’s faster start up speed should be reason enough to upgrade to it.  Oh yeah, it’s free too so you have no excuses!
